2025 February Product Feature Release

Featured Features

Messaging Controls

We’ve built a new messaging control setting to protect your members from spam or unwanted solicitation via direct messaging. This setting blocks a member from sending multiple messages to another member before receiving a reply, or acceptance to chat. Learn more about this setting here and opt to enable or disable it in the System Settings tab in your dashboard.

**Note, this is on by default for all Gradual customers with messaging enabled.

Contributions and Rewards

Rewards: Set stock inventory

You can now choose to track and adjust inventory quantities of reward items as needed. The available inventory quantities will be displayed on the list of reward items in the dashboard, along with other information such as the number of items redeemed and the item status (i.e., listed or unlisted). When a reward item runs out, the admin will receive an email notification and the item will be displayed as “out of stock” to users on the Rewards page. Learn more about rewards here.

Hide Members from Contributor Leaderboard

If you have certain members, like your team or staff, who need to be hidden from the contribution leaderboard, you can now exclude them from the list via your dashboard. They will still log points and contributions, but they’ll be hidden from that list so the true community members will climb the ranks and be celebrated on your leaderboard! Learn more about customizing your contributor leaderboard here

Other Features

Updates to the API

Our member update API received a major update and you can now map responses to custom profile questions via API. This will allow you to sync external application questions to Gradual onboarding questions. It is also possible to now update a user’s approval status via API. For more information, please refer to our API documentation here.

Club Management Settings

Club Editors can now create events and content

Those assigned as club editors in the dashboard can now create events and content in your chapters or interest groups. They are still blocked from making major settings changes or seeing member information in their limited dashboard so you can confidently hand over the reigns of club management to club editors to add fresh and new events and content, but keep control of publishing and high-level settings to club admins and dashboard admins! Learn more about club editors here

Club Admin Settings

Since different communities have varying preferences and scope for club collaborators, we've added a preference setting to the Club Settings tab to allow or block club admins from assigning, removing, or changing fellow club collaborators' access settings. Learn more about club collaborators and their roles here

Forum: Code Snippets

You can now include code snippets in forum posts like html, javascript, and more. Posters will select the code snippet icon and a block will appear for users to paste or type code. The system will automatically apply syntax highlighting based on the programming language the user picked from the dropdown list. What’s also great is the code in these snippets is included in the community search to help fellow members find what they’re looking for in programming language. This does not change the coding of the forum post, simply allows the user to list the code snippet in the post.

Force logout users: Member access changes - Logout, unapproving, etc.

Action taken to members’ access and accounts will now affect their session on a browser and in the Gradual Go mobile app. Unapproving members, marking them Limited Approval, or logging them out will all force the user to logout from their browser and mobile app session.
